Chabad House Crete operates in Hersonissos and provides a Jewish address for travelers and Jews on the island. Here, people gather around Shabbat and holiday tables, enjoy kosher food, join prayer and study, and find someone to turn to when help is needed.
Behind the house stand Rabbi Schneur and Mishka Turnheim. After nine years of shlichut in Beijing, they moved to Hersonissos to establish and develop a Chabad House in Crete. Together with their family and the community, they continue to build a place that connects people and enables them to maintain a connection to tradition even far from home.
